Appletree began in 1979 when my parents, Peter and Wihelmina Klaassen, opened a preschool and kindergarten with childcare on Blake Lane in Fairfax, VA. Shortly after its inception, the school, as well as it's waiting list, began to grow. Heeding the request of many parents, we decided to expand, and in 1985 Appletree II was born. In 2001, we expanded again- a "West Wing" was added, providing us with additional classrooms, a delightful library/computer lab, and much anticipated music room.
