Welcome! We are pleased that you are considering our program for your child. The Appletree II Kindergarten program provides children with an environment that will allow them to develop to the fullest of their potential. Our objective is to provide academic challenges to each child, and to enable each one to be confident of his or her abilities.

Our days are filled with strong academics: Stand-alone Math and Reading/writing lessons that span Kindergarten and first grade materials; Themed lesson units that integrate Social Studies, Art & Sciences in seamless ways with Math and Reading/Writing skills; In-depth Language Art around authors and children's classics; Social Studies on America and Countries Around the World; Art appreciation through the paintings of Van Gogh & other Artists: Science topics include our Solar System and Earth, Animals and Habitats, Seeds and Plants, Matter and Chemistry, and Four Seasons in our Secret Garden. The lessons are interactive and heavily hands-on to promote maximum individual participation. Small number of students in our program also means we are able to continuously track the progress of individual students.

We are happy to be able to offer this great educational experience in the Appletree II School environment; safe, nurturing, age-appropriate facilities, with a team of dedicated teachers and staff who truly love our children Your child will have a "senior" experience at the school with more opportunities to be leaders and models to the younger students in the school. It is a joy to see the Kindergarteners blossom to fill the bigger shoes.

Kindergarten Program Summary:

• School Hours of 9:15 - 3:15 daily with optional before/after care

• Class maximum of 16 students

• Two Kindergarten teachers who team up to provide breadth of classroom experience

• Weekly reading groups, extended arts and science activities with small groups of students

• Music twice weekly that culminates in leading roles played by students in the Annual Appletree Show

• Optional after-school classes that include Movement, Yoga, French, & Spanish*

• *Temporarily not offered due to the pandemic.  We hope to offer again sometime in 2022/23.
